SoundBeing is a sculptural costume that is embellished with chimes, bells, rattles and anything that can be used to create sound with directed movement. The power of the mask to modify communication and the robe and headdress to enlarge the person are simple theatrical elements employed to focus the attention of the viewer on the movement and its arc rather than the body during the piece. The resulting chimes and rattle responses provide the only sound scape. The performer will interact with viewers wordlessly, but with elemental sound.
